Who says learning can’t be fun?

Modern Studying

A Microsoftie with a passion for alternative learning techniques created a rough design for this concept in his spare time. We were inspired by his enthusiasm for the project, so we added fun details to make the cards come alive.

We built a flashcard app with spaced repetition learning feedback built-in, and an integrated design tool that lets users create and share their own card decks.

Design

To give the cards a tactile feel, we wrote a custom 3D engine that draws the cards in perspective as they move. The cards animate smoothly, flying in and out of the deck, flipping in 3D, to create the illusion that they’re physical objects.

Cards are arranged with a bit of randomness to make them feel like they were placed by hand. The experience feels like shuffling a magic deck of cards on a table, with just a few simple inputs to guide the process.

We ♥ our Clients

When a new version of Silverlight broke the app a few months after delivery, we ported the app to the new version at no charge (because it was the right thing to do!).
